Our very first days in Brazil in a brief overview.

Unsere allerersten Tage Brasilien in einem kurzen Überblick.






The trip started on the 20th of August on Tegel Airport (Berlin). At 18:35 the Aircraft started right in time with destination Charles De Gaulle International Airport (Paris).

Die Reise begann am 20ten August am Flughafen Tegel (Berlin). Um 18:35 startete das Flugzeug pünktlich in Richtung Charles De Gaulle International Airport (Paris).

There we met four other weltwärts participants who also would do their public service in Brazil. After 3 hours of staying in Paris the boardingtime for flight number AF442 begun. We entered the 747-400 long-haul aircraft which would be our "home" for about 11 hours.

Arrived on the Antônio Carlos Jobim International Airport (Rio de Janeiro) we were wellcomed by an AFS volunteer and brought to an former charity-nun institution, where we stayed during the weekend together with an other group of volunteers.

Dort trafen wir 4 weitere weltwärts Teilnehmer, welche ihr soziales Jahr ebenfalls in Brasilien verbringen. Nach 3 Stunden Aufenthalt in Paris, begann das Boarding für Flug Nummer AF443.

Wir betraten die 747-400 Langstreckenmaschine, welche uns für die nächsten 11 Stunden als "Heim" dienen würde.

Am Antônio Carlos Jobim International Airport (Rio de Janeiro) angekommen, wurden wir von einem AFS volunteer empfangen und zu einer ehemaligen Kirche (nun mit Schlaftrakt ausgebaut und als Lernzentrum für interkulturellen Erfahrungsaustausch genutzt) gebracht, welche uns und einer weiteren Gruppe von Sozialdienstleistenden für das Wochenende als Unterkunft diente.

We had an orientationcamp with loads of information about our projects and techniques to successfully fullfill a sustainable public service in different sectors.

Wir hatten ein Vorbereitungscamp mit unmengen an Informationen über unsere Projekte und Methoden um nachhaltige Entwicklung durch Sozialdienst in verschiedenen Bereichen erfolgreich zu erreichen.

Yesterday we went here, where we will stay more two weeks until really being in São Paulo: A small 6-bed dormitory in a language school where we will have lessons of portuguese adapted to our aknowledgement.

That's it so far. For the next 2 weeks we've planned to explore Rio de Janeiro wich appears to be a city with massive diversity.
